Something beautiful.
The bright glow from the moon, covered the park in a soft luminous light, creating an atmosphere of peace and comfort. The streets were empty, and the path I walked on was dark, with light only coming from the bright yellow moon. I was alone, for it was midnight, and since the projects were all completed at home, I decided to take a stroll to relax. Its nights like this that truly makes me appreciate the beauty that nature holds. It was the perfect ambience, with a small gentle breeze constantly blowing. It was really a while since I had time to myself. A sudden thought of a close friend sprang up, so I decided to call her. To my suprise, she was still awake, for she was an early sleeper. I asked her to come meet me at the park, for she was living nearby. She agreed and told me to wait. What she does not know is, I've always waited.
She was the one I fell in love with since young, as were childhood friends, and every moment spent with her was worth remembering. I could remember every scent, sound, and sight of every time I spent with her. She was beautiful, with her almond shaped eyes, long dark hair that was always tied up in a ponytailed fashion, and her sweet smile by her soft pink lips. She was everything I ever wanted, yet she was always with other guys. That's when I realize to her, I was just someone whom she regards as a best friend, but to me, she was simply divine. Finally after a few minutes, she finally came.
In the soft glow of the moon's light, I was absoulutely in awe. Dressed in a simple white cashmere sweater and jeans, she was simply beautiful. Her eyes shone light crystals, her hair swaying in the gentle breeze. As she came closer, she smiled. Oh how I wish that smile would belong to me. She sat down beside me and we began to chat about our current lives. She was now a intern in NIE, and was going to start teaching next year. The thought of school brought up old memories about our lives as students. We reminisced and laughed over the silly acts we did. I smiled, and she smiled back. Being with her was so easy, we could talk about almost anything under the sun. If time were to stood still at this very moment, I wouldn't mind at all.
I asked her why was she awake so late, and she suddenly sobbed. She told me that she and her boyfriend had just broke up, and it was painful for her. I once met the boyfriend of hers, handsome, rich, smart and everything that was best for her. Everything that I was not.
They have been together for quite some time now, their breakup was a shock to me as well. She then leaned on my shoulder, telling me all the perfect moments she had with him. Though it hurts me to listen, I was indeed happy that she was happy.
Suddenly, she lifted her head and looked up to me. Her face was so angelic. She then asked me.
"Do you love me?" she asked, and I was really taken aback. This was not how I expected the situation to go. Without consideration, I answered.
"Yes."
Silence. My heart was beating fast. Too fast. She smiled and looked up to me again, this time looking happier than before. Without thinking, I held my hand to her chin and lifted it slightly. And in a flash, under the soft glow of the moon, on a park bench where the most perfect romantic ambience was created, I kissed her. And soon, the whole world around me did not seem to matter at all. Right here and now, was me and her, and it was perfect. I knew that this was the start, the beginning of something beautiful.
